League Kick-off Party Photos

The NSW Gridiron Football League’s inaugural Kick-off Party was a success, and a great night for all those teams who attended. Congratulations UTS for having the largest group there, showing that not only are we a committed team on-field but also off. Season 2001 is shaping up to be our best ever.

Special thanks goes to the Cheerleaders, girlfriends and wives of players, for allowing UTS players to have the best looking company on the night. Below are photos from the night!

PS – To Quarterbacks Martin and Lewis who now know the importance of a good offensive line.

League Kick-off Party

The date has been set. The NSW Gridiron Football League has organised the first ever pre-season kick off dinner party – and all teams have been invited to attend! The league is keen to keep the night’s details under wraps – but those of us who’ve been involved can tell you that this is going to be a great night. A tremendous amount of preparation and planning has gone into the event, which will include a number of activities that will make this a whole lot more than just dinner and a party!

The venue is the Rose Hill Racecourse. On Saturday, 1st September, all of the NSW Gridiron Football League (NSWGFL) teams have been invited to get together for the first ever NSWGFL pre-season function. The cost is $50.00 per head and partners are certainly invited. Proceeds will go to the league and the clubs.

The organisers are keen to keep the night a surprise, with much of the detail being kept top secret. But what we can tell you is that there will be dinner, dancing, special celebrity guests, a professional cameraman/video, a master of ceremonies (MC) and a NFL memorabilia auctioned. Believe me, this function will be huge!

This night will certainly set the tone for what is expected to be the best year ever for both UTS and the NSWGFL and UTS will certainly be supporting this night. In fact we are very involved in planning and organising of the function. So keep Saturday, 1 September free, bring your partner to Rose Hill Racecourse and share in the celebration. Meet many of the players from other teams who you will be banging heads with on the field as early as seven days after the function. More information will be posted soon. So keep your head on a swivel and keep an eye out for more details.

Have You Registered?

If you were unable to make it or have not yet organised a payment plan with Club Treasurer Matt Steel, then please contact him immediately on 0418 600 326 or via email treasurer. A big thanks goes to Matt Steel, Mark Jacobs, Damien Law, Anthony Maxwell, and John Kritikos (and John Gornall for the camera). These guys gave up their time and orchestrated the smooth registration and equipment measurement of over 30 players in under an hour on Registration Day.

Players were reminded by Coach Manera that he will be exercising a strict “no play” rule for players that are not paid up (or do not have a plan organised with Matt Steel) or players that do not attend training. Coach expects injured players to attend trainings to ensure that all are familiar with the formations and plays.
