Waratah Bowl 2009 schedule

Waratah-bowl-poster-2009On Saturday 12 December, UTS Gators will play Sydney Uni Lions in the Waratah Bowl state championship match. The day’s schedule for the general public is as follows:

Game 1: 1:00pm – Sharks Juniors vs Bondi Juniors – Exhibition Game
Game 2: 2:00pm – Sharks Snrs vs Predators Team on field – Exhibition game
Game 2: 2:30pm – Kick Off – Sharks vs Predators
Game 2: 4:00pm – Sharks v Predators leave field
Game 3: 4:00pm – Waratah Bowl teams pre-game
Game 3: 5:00pm – Waratah Bowl – Sydney University Lions vs UTS Gators
Approx 6-6:30pm – Half time entertainment -Sharks Minis vs Bondi Minis (under 10’s) exhibition Game (20 minutes)
Approx 6:20 – 6:50pm – Waratah Bowl second Half
Approx 7:30 – 8:00pm – prepare Presentations
Approx 8:10 – Championship presentations

Please note players are to arrive at the grounds no later than 3pm. Refer to the email issued to club members earlier for player schedule.

Next week we are into the finals! Waratah Bow 2009. UTS play Lions at Forshaw Rugby Park, Sylvania Waters, with kickoff at 5pm.

Due to insufficient player numbers from the opposing team, Seahawks had to forfeit this round.

Next week we are into the semi finals. UTS play Pirates at Forshaw Rugby Park, Sylvania Waters, with kickoff at 4pm.

UTS Players Selected on the U/19’s Australian Outback Team

Congratulations to Lachlan Facchini, Nick Kondilios and Jean Prill who were recently selected on the U/19’s Australian Outback Team.

The U/19’s Australian Outback Team will play on New Year’s Day in American Samoa against an American Samoan Development Squad at Veterans Stadium Pago Pago.

This will be the first game ever played between both countries and American Samoa’s first international game.

The U/19’s Australian Outback Team consists of forty (40) players which were selected from recent 2009 Junior Nationals, held on the Gold Coast. Eight (8) other players from the victorious NSW Wolverines State Team were also selected on the Squad. The Team will depart Dec 27 and arrive back in Australia Jan 4.

UTS Gridiron wishes all selected players the best of luck in representing their Country.
