UTS Gridiron

As 2004 draws to a close, it’s time to prepare for what will be a very big and successful 2005 campaign. It all begins with the clubs AGM. Here’s your chance to vote on who you want to run the club. All executive positions are re-elected annually at the AGM. Job descriptions are available from Matt Steel.

Venue: Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club
Address: Marine Parade Maroubra Beach [Opposite the Maroubra Seals] entry is on the Promenade Side of the Beach
Time: 12pm [Meeting to commence at 12:15pm]
Activities: At the conclusion of the meeting throw a footy around on the beach, go for a swim between the red & yellow flags.
BBQ Lunch: There are BBQ facilities available there at the Club so for those who want to bring food you would be more then welcome.
Drinks: For those who just want a drink then $3 Schooners, $2.50 Middies available [soft drinks are $1.50]
Public Transport: Bus Routes available are #376, #377, #396 & #397 from Circular Quay [Alfred St, Stand E] & #395 from Central Station [Eddy Ave]. All of these go directly to the beach. Check out the timetable at www.sta.nsw.gov.au/timetable

UTS Gridiron Club’s AGM. This is your chance to put your hand up for a position on the executive or voice your opinion by voting on who you want as executive members to run the club. Time and venue to be confirmed.

Colts players get ready!!! Colts pre-season training to commence. We will confirm start date soon.

UTS Gridiron Division One 2004 Presentation Night. Time and venue to be confirmed.

UTS Gridiron’s Division One wide receiver, Patrick Raveloson earned the NSWGFL most valuable player (MVP) at the 2004 NSWGFL League presentation night. More commonly known by his nickname, Zee, he has been an integral part of UTS Gridiron’s offense for the past four seasons. His amazing athletic ability and knack for reeling-in dazzling catches earned him this well-deserved honor. Zee has also been selected to play for the NSW and Australian team. He is the first player from UTS Gridiron to win the league MVP.

A big congratulations also goes to linebacker, Lucas Marquardt for making the runner up list. Well done!

The Annual League Presentation night will be held at the Bronte Bowling Club, 16 Wallace Street, Waverley on Sunday, December 5th at 12:30pm.

Cost is $30 per head. This year will be a smorgasbord type lunch.

The menu will include:
Beef, Lamb and Chicken Drumsticks, Gourmet Potato Salad, Home style Coleslaw, Vegetable Medley, Creamy Pasta, Fried Rice, Potato, Egg & Bacon, Deluxe Garden Salad, Classic Cheesecake, Chocolate Mud Cake, Fruit Salad, Pavlova.

The UTS Gridiron 10th Year Anniversary was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who arrived - we had a huge turnout of almost 100 people! Players met the original founder of the club, Thomas Wheelock, who arrived all the way from England for the event. Many awards were presented on the night, like the first ever Hall of Fame, Honor Role and Team of the Decade (results will be posted soon). The club also revealed the new-look UTS Gridiron jerseys, which were presented to the 2004 team. A big thanks goes to all those who organized the special night. We had a blast! Here are the designs for the new-look UTS Gridiron jerseys. These are to be worn from the start of the 2004 Division One season. The players were presented with them at the 10th year anniversary night. These designs are presented by Knockout Sportswear.

After a HUGE amount of hard work, we finally have some UTS Gridiron videos available for download. This section features the top 20 touchdowns ever caught on film. We currently have two videos, and will add more when we can acquire more storage on our server. Special thanks to Karl Emmett for the digital editing and Crimson Tears for letting us use their music demos.
