Gridiron Australia Ltd is looking to appoint appropriately qualified positional coaches with the 2005 Australian National Gridiron Team. All applications should be in writing and directed to Coach Paul Manera via email at: pmanera. Coach Manera can be reached to discuss the requirements of the positions on 0408 641 345. The deadline for the submission of applications is Friday, 1 April 2005.

The 2005 Gridiron Australia National Championships have concluded in dramatic fashion after the New South Wales Wolfpack won back to back Australian titles in an epic encounter over Victoria 14-13. The win secures the Wolfpack’s position as Australia’s Number 1 Gridiron State, this was their second successive Championship, having playing in all 4 Australian Finals. Congratulations to all coaching staff and players!

Applications for UTS Gridiron Head Coach are now available. If you are interested in becoming a coach for UTS Gridiron, download the coaching application form below, and submit it to club president, Matt Steel, before 23 March 2005 (details available on the form). Selection for Head Coach will be made by the UTS executive, and all positional roles will be chosen with the assistance of the Head Coach. We’d also like extend our congratulations to coach Paul Manera, who has also just been appointed Head Coach of the 2005 Australian Outback Team. He will be heading with the team to Germany in June 2005.

It’s time for Superbowl XXXIX, and the New England Patriots will clash with the Philadelphia Eagles. We’re all getting together to watch big-screen football action on Monday, 7th February, 9:30am, at the UTS Glasshouse Bar (inside the main UTS campus at Broadway). Friends and family are welcome.

The 2005 AGM is completed, and your new executive team for 2005 has been elected. Congratulations to the following people:

Both coaching staff & executive of UTS want all players who took part in last season & who are planning to return this year to attend. Sunday, 16th January at 11:30am - Concord RSL (opposite Arthur Walker Reserve). The purpose of the meeting is so that the Players, Coaches & the Executive can get together to discuss off-season training, coach expectations, pre-season training, positional selection and general business. As 2004 draws to a close, it’s time to prepare for what will be a very big and successful 2005 campaign. It all begins with the clubs AGM. Here’s your chance to vote on who you want to run the club. All executive positions are re-elected annually at the AGM. Job descriptions are available from Matt Steel.

Time: 12pm [Meeting to commence at 12:15pm]
Activities: At the conclusion of the meeting throw a footy around on the beach, go for a swim between the red & yellow flags.
BBQ Lunch: There are BBQ facilities available there at the Club so for those who want to bring food you would be more then welcome.
Drinks: For those who just want a drink then $3 Schooners, $2.50 Middies available [soft drinks are $1.50]
Public Transport: Bus Routes available are #376, #377, #396 & #397 from Circular Quay [Alfred St, Stand E] & #395 from Central Station [Eddy Ave]. All of these go directly to the beach. Check out the timetable at www.sta.nsw.gov.au/timetable
