UTS Gridiron

Today several UTS Gridiron players and committee members braved the wet weather headed down to the Iron Cove to run the bbq for 65k 4 64 roses charity event. The walkathon, along with all proceeds from the bbq, helps raise funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis NSW council.

Thank you to all club members who came down to give a hand on the day.

The annual Cystic Fibrosis Walk is being held this Saturday on the ‘Bay Run’, with our club volunteering to run the BBQ for the event. Apart from being for a great cause, this even is also a good opportunity to help raise the profile of both our club and the sport of gridiron through the City of Canada Bay Council area.

So if you’re still interested in lending a hand please let me know. We will be wearing our UTS game day jersey’s on the day as the local paper will be there taking photos on the day.

UTS kicker Stephen Irvine starts for Stockton Lightning in the game against division leaders Rio Grande Valley.

The Lightning shattered numerous team records in this match and went on to win 83 to 56.

Stephen successfully converted all 11 PAT attempts.

UTS Gridiron and a select group of Div 1 Players were fortunate enough to grab a rare photo with Australian NBA star Andrew Bogut.

The lucky club members were part of the live audience for the One HD sports show Thursday Night Live hosted by Bill Woods.
